Who am I?
Hello, my name is Francisco Armengol.
I have worked with entire families, facilitating communication in conflict resolution and expression of affection.
I am Francisco Armengol, from Barcelona. My greatest passion in life is helping others to create enhancing interpersonal bonds as human beings, and thus, increasing the possibility of feeling loved and to love. I am convinced of the goodness that everyone treasures within, and of their abilities to overcome adversity.
I have worked in Ireland, Spain, Italy, Israel, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. I have accompanied people in the happiest moments of their lives, as well as in the saddest, the most painful and even heartbreaking ones. But in all those events, good and bad, I have witnessed the personal growth of those involved and I have learned very valuable lessons.
I have accompanied couples all the way through their preparation for marriage, helping them to speak about the most relevant issues that must be faced before starting this beautiful adventure. I have helped many couples to overcome their struggles, always aiming to save the bond and to restore their love, if that is the goal they were looking for. Finally, I have also assisted couples who have taken the difficult decision to break up, helping them to minimize the collateral damage both to them and their loved ones.
I have worked with entire families when conflicts have arisen, enabling their members to communicate peacefully and to convey their affection.
In 2014, I was certified in Corporate Ontological Coaching. That enhanced my proficiency to serve others either in the personal and in family sphere. I devoted myself to conducting affective communication workshops both for couples and parents along with their teenaged children. The outcomes of these workshops are a memory that I treasure in my heart.
From 2017 to 2021 I worked in a school in Quito, Ecuador, as Head of the Human and Family Formation Department. In 2019 I got a Master’s Degree in Family Educational Counseling, which provided me greater expertise and techniques to trigger positive changes in families and in schools.
I ran the “Highlands School for Parents”, in Quito. We implemented a group methodology and specific contents that allowed us to reach a participation rate of 85%. Parents were actively working in their own formation.
My philosophy of life.
I would like to share with you some of the beliefs on which my life is based on.
Human beings discover that they have been designed to love and be loved. One finds the strength to love within oneself to the extent that one perceives oneself first as loved.
In every person there is a core of goodness, dignity, and value. We all seek to flourish and to serve others.
We discover within us a nature that has been given to us, but it has not yet reached its fullness. Therefore, we find ourselves in life with the necessary mission of developing it and completing ourselves through the exercise of our freedom. Virtue is what improves our received nature towards its fullness.
Just as there are actions that make us better persons, some others demean our essence. True freedom is not the absence of barriers, but the ability to self-determination towards the authentic good of the person.
The kind of relationships that we develop build us up as human beings. We are the result of the quality of our interpersonal relationships (family, partner, friends, colleagues, collaborators, communities, etc.)
We all want to change and to improve; what we do not like is being changed by others. The person decides what to change and why to do it. The human being can self-determine and give himself ultimate purpose.
Nobody is perfect. Although we all have good intentions, we often see our own inconsistencies. For the same reason, no family and/or society is perfect.
Happiness comes from gratitude, not from satisfaction. In order to experience gratitude, we must identify and be aware of those gifts that we have received without having done any merits to obtain them.
The human being is a unity of body, mind, and emotions. Being endowed with a spiritual soul, one wonders about the transcendent meaning of his/her concrete existence. Due to this substantial unity, these three areas intertwine and intercommunicate.
Spirituality responds to an intrinsic human need to seek and connect with the divine and find meaning. There is a thirst for infinity and eternity deep down in our hearts.
The person lives in three areas in which they must find balance while striving for their own fulfillment: personal life, family life and their contribution to society.
