School for parents

Generating a community of parents committed to the education of their children

From the moment parents choose a school for their children, they begin to take part of the educational community. To deliver a quality education, it is essential to involve the family. There are several ways to do it and one of them is the School for parents.

According to an investigation done by Romero (2005) on the conferences organized for parents in schools in Spain, although there is high satisfaction about the subject, the content and the methodology, there is nevertheless a revealing fact: Not only the number of assisting parents is minor (in many cases not over 10 people); but also, perseverance decreases over the years. Only 22% participate more than three years in these formation activities. In other words, the educational institution invests plenty of time and money in offering quality educational content to parents, but this is not effective.

What I offer to the educational institution is the design and management of a methodology and contents of the School for Parents that achieves an estimated participation of 70% of parents, sustained throughout the years of their kid’s formation, through two means:

  • A theme that responds to the real demand and needs of parents, focused on the particular age of each of their children.
  • An active and more participatory methodology, through learning communities, that attracts, involves, and engages parents throughout the school year. A methodology that will offer them a space for reflection. They will be the main players of their formations.

This service includes a quantitative and qualitative method of evaluation for the School at the end of the school year to measure the impact it has had on the educational community.
