What is coaching?
Coaching is a methodology to help the person to move him or herself to a new space in his life. It generates a whole new world of relationships. The coach is not the driver of such a change, neither is he a counselor, but only the vehicle who activates and facilitates deep reflection. The one who assumes the responsibility for his own change is the client. Why? Because everyone has their own internal resources.
Through active listening, the coach offers the client powerful questions, while exploring the different environments in which he/she has built his/her own history. Questions are aimed at helping to discover the opinions and beliefs hidden in those spaces. Beliefs which have till now supported vital decisions. This allows to get new perspectives from which to look at a certain situation.
It offers the client opportunities for new learnings and growth towards an inner transformation, that improves his interpersonal relationships. It is focused both on self-knowledge and action. The client, accompanied by the coach, will develop an action plan that will lead him/her to the change he/she is willing to make.
Existential coaching
Of Francisco Armengol
There are times in life when deeper and higher concerns than your daily routine come up. Existential coaching may help you to build the meaning of your life, to go over it or to reframe the significance you had given to relevant past events. You might discover within them new lessons to be incorporated into your own being that will allow you to become a better person and to generate those future experiences you want to be part of your personal history from now on, with the meaning you want to give them. Rather than delving into the “Why?”, question that ties us to the past, we focus on the question “What for?”, which launches us into the future.
Every single person is a whole different world because he/she is unique. I do not offer magic recipes, simply because there are none. I focus on the specific person. The purpose of existential coaching is to help you get to know yourself better, to discover the source of your attitudes and different life patterns and to be able to create the required change to improve your relationships with yourself and with others.
I listen to the three domains of the being: the body, the language, and the emotions.
The family coaching
Of Francisco Armengol
Our own family is the most important company that we possess. Unfortunately, in our daily life, due to so many “to do” lists and personal responsibilities, we cannot provide the attention we would like to and that it deserves.
I believe that the most important thing in a family is the love that binds its members. But pay attention, feeling love is not enough to build the family bond, but rather the other way around: it is the relationship and the way of interacting that builds love. Therefore, the family coaching that I offer is focused on generating listening spaces and from-the-heart communication, in order to strengthen the family bond and to improve relationships, and thus, to build the love you want in your family.
I work both with couples (in particular and/or in a group) and with whole families (with a particular family or with group workshops in which several families get together).
I give special attention to adolescence. In a stage of life where communication between parents and children generally suffers, I help to create moments in which, within a serene climate and protected by trust and mutual understanding, conversations and dynamics take place with a high capacity to affectively bond parents and children, moments of true encounter.

What coaching is not?
It is not either advice or consultancy. I do not give advice. I am convinced that the person and the family system have their own internal resources to move ahead and to improve.
It is not therapy or a methodology aimed at solving clinical psychological pathologies. This requires the support of some other professionals.
What do I do this for?
I want to keep helping others to discover and build up meaning in their lives, connecting with the ultimate purpose of loving and being loved. I am convinced that family is the most important enterprise that someone can have. I seek to be an effective facilitator to family members, so that healthy and strong affective bonds might be built between them.
How do I do this?
I do so by actively listening to my interlocutors and raising questions that will lead them to powerful reflections and discoveries. By the activities and dynamics held in the workshops, a safe space of trust, empathetic listening and adequate emotional climate is created. Thus, participants will be able to face, in a natural way, deep conversations, hard to hold in their daily lives. Each activity is aimed at strengthening the affective bonds of the couple and the family.
